Breach and Clear
Okay, so this post is not going to be anything but short!
I just can’t seem to figure out how to beat the Special Ops mission “Breach and Clear”. I attempted it several times with a couple friends (one that was even better than me at this game) and still could not get past the second room/area.
I’m going to be looking up tips and strategies on how to attack this mission because it will take too much time from me to figure it out on my own; don’t have that kind of luxury.
I’m sure it’s just a matter of time, as I thought the same thing about “Hidden” and didn’t take much with the help of my buddy (who’s also pretty good at sniping). Sigh! I just wish it didn’t take several tries for me to figure these things out.
Two Weeks Later…
As the title of this post suggests, I’ve been playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for two weeks; not straight, may have skipped a couple days and usually don’t get to play on weekends as I’m away from home.
I’ve completed some Special Ops:
- All of ALPHA on Veteran
- All of BRAVO on Veteran
- One of CHARLIE, “Hidden”, on Veteran
- Unlocked DELTA
The “Breach & Clear” Op from CHARLIE on Veteran is proving quite difficult, lol. I’ve got 33 out of the 69 stars so I’m about halfway there.
Got some multiplayer experience under my belt as well, mostly Team Deathmatch, Free-For-All, and some Domination. Right now I’m at level 28, a Sergeant Major, with 26 Wins & 60 Losses + a 4 Win Streak. My score is 83,280, kills are 965, and deaths are 1,135. In Barracks, it tells me that I’ve only been playing for 11 hrs 19 min; so not that much. As of this moment, my favorite Assault Rifle is the SCAR-H, but of course that could change in the future.
All around fun! I’ve just bought the game for my wife; got $10 off a brand-new sealed copy from someone on Craigslist, lol. So now I have a partner in crime =).
Mission Completed
Just completed this game. I’m almost inclined to call it an interactive movie. It’s an epic, so cinematic, in-your-face, feel-like-you’re-there experience that surpasses my other first-person shooter endeavors.
I’m going to move on to Special Ops next and hope to quickly get on to Multiplayer. I only got one Achievement after this last mission, “Endgame”:
- For The Record
In the future, I will go through the campaign missions in Hardened and then Veteran difficulty levels. I will also attempt to get all Intel items.
My Campaign Play Time as of now is 07:23:27. Funny, though, my Campaign completion is a little above 50%. Could this be due to the Bonus Mission? It shouldn’t be 50% worth?!?!
Almost There!
Had my third MW2 Campaign session last night but afterwards my wife and I went to see the movie “New Moon” at 12:30 A.M. and got home around 3:30 so I didn’t have time to post this then.
I made it as far as “Just Like Old Times”, which is the mission before last. So I’m almost there! Below are the Achievements I got during this session:
- Unnecessary Roughness
- Soap On A Rope
- Desperate Times
- Whiskey Hotel
- The Pawn
- Out Of The Frying Pan
Second Session
Just finished my second round of Modern Warfare 2; it just keeps getting better. It’s like every mission is epic. Some stand out a lot more than others but all are amazing.
My current mission is “The Gulag” in Act II and I’ve gotten the following achievements:
- Ten Plus Foot Mobiles
- Royale With Cheese
- Knock Knock
Not as many as my first session but it’s okay. I’ll get the rest…or at least try to, lol.
First Session, Done!
Just finished my first MW2 session and my first impression is…WOW! INTENSE! AMAZING! EXCITING!
It seems rather easy on Regular (which is what I’m playing — won’t bother with Recruit) but I did die quite a bit. I attempted using the default stick layout controls but I couldn’t stick to it and changed it to my “Southpaw” mid-way. Made it through the famous “No Russian” mission, I will reserve judgement.
I saved it just at the beginning of Act II, “Wolverines!”. So far I’ve gotten the following Achievements (I assume most people will get the same??):
- Back In The Saddle
- Three-some
- Danger Close
- No Rest For The Wary
- Two Birds One Stone
- Cold Shoulders
- Tag ‘Em & Bag ‘Em
Can’t wait for tomorrow’s session.
My Humble Setup
Not much, but it works!
Terrible lighting, though. It’s a 19″ Dell monitor hooked up to the Xbox via VGA cable, a pair of Yamaha PC speakers w/subwoofer (oh, yea), and a system/video selector. What really makes the sound possible though is an oooold Kworld USB video capture device (at the bottom).
I Got It!
Finally! After the deadly wait, I have my copy of MW2 in my hands. Also got the Xbox Wireless N Network Adapter.
I was sooo confused last night because the delivery status in Amazon.com said “Delivered” on 11/17 @ 8:11 PM. It was 1:30 AM, so you can imagine my frustration. It turned out just to be the way the delivery service they used (A1 International) updated their system and actually go it delivered at 9:30 this morning.
I’m good to go now!
Amazing Knife Throw
Browsing through Modern Warfare 2 videos on YouTube, I ran across this one. Yes, it was luck, but still AMAZING!! And, need I mention, awesome to look at. You gotta see this!
The Order is In
So on my way to work today I checked my iPhone for email, lo and behold, a merchant at Amazon had verified my trade-ins and I was given the gift card credit of $108. Not bad, huh?
Naturally, as soon as I got into the office I pretended to be working while I secretly had a web browser tab opened to Amazon.com. Muahahaha! I verified that I indeed had a $108 gift card to spend and I went hunting for the goods. Found Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 among the other versions (didn’t know there were 3). There’s Standard (all I need), Prestige, and Hardened. I think one of the latter two come with some art book or something completely unnecessary to enjoy the game. Added to shopping cart.
I also needed a wireless network adapter for the Xbox 360 so I can get on XBL but I don’t want to run a cable all the way to my room. At first, I was going to settle for the original adapter which works on A/B/G WiFi networks. The other option was the newer adapter that works for the same A/B/G but also the current N networks, which my current Netgear router doesn’t support. It was only $20 more and I thought sometime in the future I will be upgrading to a Wireless N router and I could take advantage of the speed increase. All my computers at home come with a WiFi 802.11N card already, so I would be set.
Tried to resist but didn’t win. I got one-day shipping on both items so I should get my grubby hands on them tomorrow; soon as I get home from work. The real problem…nothing’s going to get done for a while; sigh, that’s a SERIOUS problem.
[UPDATE]
Amazon has shipped my copy and the wireless adapter. w00t!
